I Don't Know Where To Start - So Let's Go Fishin'!

I can't believe it's been so long since I've updated my bead blog.  I have wonderful reasons why though!  Business was great through the holiday season and I also kept busy doing shows, making commissioned pieces,  as well as enjoying family over the holidays!!!  I just never seemed to have the time to take the photos let alone edit them and get them posted either here or on my facebook page.  And my poor artfire site is getting pretty bare.  This week was the first time I sat at the torch and just experimented a bit with what I felt like creating instead of making specific beads for specific orders and I must say, I loved it.  Sometimes I miss the freedom to create whatever and whenever I want.  Now that things are slowing down I have photos to share.  Since I wasn't sure where to start, I decided to share the new fish beads I've been working on.  I created a few before the open house and the reaction was pretty positive so I made some more.

First fish I made in this series.
Second fish I made in this series.
These were my first two fish.  I was happy with the way they turned out but I wanted to try improving a few things on the body as well as try other color combinations.  After about 3 weeks I found some time to make more.
Pink and teal.

Aqua and ink blue.

Emerald and striking orange.

Emerald and aqua.

Aqua, teal and striking orange.

Opaque colors.  I much prefer the transparent colors over these.

Rose quartz and striking orange.

Teal and rose quartz.

These little guys are kind of cute but I prefer the ones without the raised dots.  I do like more detail in the scales though.
My personal favorite!  I shaped the scales a bit differently as well as added some black in the scales.

The other side - aqua, ink blue, teal and lt. grass green.
Here he is on a 16" black multi-wire choker with bayonet clasp!!!
As you can see, a few things have evolved like the lips and scales.  I'd love to come up with a fancier tail.

I have lots more photos to share so I'll be blogging again soon.  You can get a sneak peak by looking on my facebook page as most of the photos have been uploaded there already.

Thanks for stopping by and reading my blog!!!!
